The Walker Youngbird Artist Grant
Through the foundation’s artist grant program, Native American and Indigenous artists are provided with financial support, mentorship, and a dedicated showcase celebrating a completed project.

Grant
$15,000 grant over a six month period to fund the creation of an innovative new project.

Mentorship
Monthly check-ins to support artist’s progress as they work to complete the project.

Showcases
Two special events designed to showcase work to curators, collectors, and gallerists.

18 years or older
Currently reside in the United States
An enrolled member or citizen of a US federally-recognized or state-recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native corporation, of Native Hawaiian ancestry, or of the First Nations of Canada. Documentation must be provided.
Practicing artist working in the disciplines of one of the following:
2D visual arts | 3D visual arts | Video arts | Multi-Disciplinary arts | Traditional arts

Funds can be used for materials, studio space, travel for research, or any other resources necessary to create a new project.
Artists should be prepared to provide photos, video, and general updates of their progress so that we can share their journey.
Tips:
We’re looking for artists with work grounded in tradition, and innovative in execution.
